Shrestha’s new job

KATHMANDU: Ambassador-designate to the Russian Federation Hiranya Lal Shrestha on Saturday left for Moscow to take up his assignment as the Royal Nepalese ambassador. Shrestha has expressed commitment to explore possibility of enhancing trade and economic ties between the two countries. — HNS

Training held

KATHMANDU: A one-day mind management workshop was organised for the employees of the Marshyangdi Hotel Thamel by the Indian Institute of Mind Management. Some 40 employees of the Hotel participated in the class that was conducted by Acharya Shree Dhruv. — HNS

Poetry book released

KATHMANDU: Senior litterateur Dr Taranath Sharma released an anthology of poetry Gham Nabhaeko Bela by poet Krishna Prasain. On the occasion, chief guest and Minister for Education and Sports Radha Krishna Mainali read out a poem Tears Flow Like Waters. Minister Mainali said he was not a poet indeed but wanted to recite poems rather than make speech at the literary gathering. Dr Sharma translated the book. — RSS

2 Maoists surrender

KATHMANDU: Two persons of Udayapur VDC, Banke district, involved in terrorist activities surrendered before the local administration on June 9. Banke member of the Madhesi Mukti Morcha Kailash Lonia and general member of the same group Ajij Kabadiya surrendered before the local administration, the Royal Nepalsese Army said. — RSS

Health camp held

LALITPUR: On the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the Rotary International, Rotary Club of Patan, Bangladesh Embassy and Bandipur Hospital Assistance Committee jointly held a day-long free health camp at Bandipur hospital on Friday. Some 200 people underwent health checkup at the camp. — RSS
