Interaction on TB Day

MADHYAPUR THIMI: Nepal Tuberculosis Relief Centre, Bhaktapur, organized an interaction on “World TB Day 2009 and People’s Participation” on Friday. Inaugurating the interaction, Dr Pushpa Malla, Director of the National Tuberculosis Centre, said people living with tuberculosis (TB) are treated free of cost through DOTS Plus in some 4,000 health institutions across the nation. Dr Malla said about 80 per cent of all TB patients were suffering from the TB of the lungs. — RSS

Orchid exhibition

KATHMANDU: The Cymbidium Orchid Show-2009 began in Kathmandu on Saturday with the aim to increasing the demand for orchids in the international market. The two-day exhibition organised by Cymbidium Orchid Growers’ Group was inaugurated by Fujiwara, Deputy Chief of Mission at Japanese Embassy. — RSS
