Poems translated

Lalitpur: Yoshiko Higuchi, an inter-cultural consultant from Japan,has translated Bhishma Upreti’s collection of poems Sea and Other Poems in Japanese language. “The poems taught me the language as well as Nepali emotions. I was overwhelmed by the poems and decided to translate it in my language,” she said while talking to this daily. “I find Nepali culture very interesting,”she said. The translated book, with original poems in Nepali, was released at an informal literary gathering organised here on Sunday. Upreti and Higuchi recited the poems. —HNS
