KATHMANDU: Security forces on Thursday arrested Communist leader and general secretary of Nepal Communist Party (United), Bishnu Bahadur Manandhar, from Dilli Bazara, according to the party. It has dema-nded Manandhar’s immediate release, and said it is committed to fight any autocratic system to establish full democracy. — HNS
Rs 4 million bail for Sigdel
KATHMANDU: The Special Court on Thursday imposed a bail amount of Rs 4 million bail on chief of Naya Bazaar Drinking Water Project, Ramesh Sigdel. The bail was imposed in response to a corruption case filed by the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) against him. — HNS
Toddler falls to death
KATHMANDU: Sano Bhusal, a two-year-old toddler, died after falling from the staircase of a five-storied building belonging to Mahendra Shakya. Sano, the son of Sainla Bhusal, resident of Natole under Lalitpur Sub-Metropolitan City-19, was taken to Patan Hospital. The doctors tried their best to save his life but he died while receiving treatment. Police said the accident occurred at around 1 pm on Wednesday. — HNS
