Call to end strikes

KATHMANDU: Home Ministry has called upon all political parties, groups and people to immediately call off bandh, chakka jam and other protests that have been hindering

vehicular movement on the East-West highway for the past few days. Issuing a press release on Friday, the ministry said that such obstacles would serve no purpose but only paralyse normal life at a time when the government had already invited the protesters to talks. The ministry has also warned of strong action against the defiant and non-cooperative protesters. — HNS
