Inclusive democracy sought

Kathmandu, April 26:

The Indigenous Women Peace Network (IWPN) has appealed to the parties concerned to make sure the inclusion of indigenous women in all processes towards achieving total democracy in the country.

The network warned the parties not to undermine the people’s aspiration for which they had supported the movement. In a press release issued today, the indigenous women’s network called on the parties to correct the past mistakes, check corruption and misuse of power and solve the Maoist problem.

The Loktantrik Newa Sangharsha Samiti of Lalitpur also appealed to the party leaders to form a government that would include Maoists, Dalits, janajatis and women. Likewise, the Indigenous Nationalities’ Joint Front Nepal demanded an all-sector government including indigenous nationalities, Dalit, women and other deprived groups.
