India offers assistance of 82.39m

KATHMANDU: In accordance with the decisions taken by India-Nepal Joint Committee on Inundation and Flood Management, Rakesh Sood, ambassador of India to Nepal, on Friday offered a cheque of NRs 82.39 million to Minister of Irrigation Bal Krishna Khand. The amount will be used for the construction of embankments along Lalbakeya, Bagmati and Kamla rivers.

India has also committed to grant an assistance of NRs 109.96 million for flood protection works along Trijuga, Lakhandei, Sunsari and Kankai rivers in Nepal.
