Indian aid for health centre
Kathmandu, February 27:
Indian Ambassador to Nepal, Shiv Shankar Mukherjee, today laid the foundation stone of the new building of the Community Satellite Health Centre (CSHC) for the Nepal Medical College and Teaching Hospital at Jhoukhel, Bhaktapur.
A statement issued here said India is providing a cooperation grant of Rs 12.2 million to the District Development Committee, Bhaktapur, for the construction of the CSHC, which would include a double-storey hospital building with 23 beds and would have facilities such as Out Patient Department, laboratory, diagnostic room, procedure room, emergency, X-ray chamber etc. The statement said the CSHC will be a part of the Nepal Medical College, affiliated to Kathmandu University.
According to the press release, Mukherjee stressed on the importance of healthcare infrastructure in improving the quality of life and the overall development of the people of Nepal.
