Indian assistance to three schools
KATHMANDU: The Embassy of India here in Kathmandu today signed three separate memorandum of understandings (MoUs) with concerned District Development Committees and beneficiary organisations regarding a grant assistance to them.
The embassy has pledged NRs 41.9 million to Jaljala Campus in Rolpa’s Liwang for the construction of a building and an access road as well as furniture, computers, printers and photocopy machine, according to a statement released by the embassy here today.
As per the MoUs, Jagadish Secondary School in Dailekh’s Badakhola will receive NRs 27.1 million for a similar purpose. Altogether 1,250 students study there.
Similarly, Shree Pathariya Secondary School in Jhapa’s Pathariya will be provided NRs 23.6 million for the construction of a two-storey building and to mange furniture. The school caters to the educational needs of more than 1,750 students.
The projects will be implemented as small development projects under the India-Nepal Economic Cooperation Programme.
