Indian embassy to help Nepal One staff

Kathmandu, August 11:

The Embassy of India said today that it would convey demands of Nepal One television workers in Nepal to management of the TV channel in Delhi.

According to the Indian Embassy, workers of Nepal One television channel, who have been agitating for a month to press for the fulfilment of their demands, today met Indian ambassador Rakesh Sood and sought the embassy’s intervention in the matter.

Quoting the Indian ambassador, the embassy said in a press statement the embassy or the government of India had no role to play, as the dispute was between Nepal One management and the workers.

“However, respecting the sentiments of workers, the embassy would convey their demands to the authorities concerned,” the statement said.
