Indian national held at gunpoint
Kathmandu, August 30:
Three men held an Indian national at gunpoint at his residence in Bijulibazaar, Kathmandu, yesterday and demanded Rs 5 lakh from him. The trio, however, fled after the locals got wind of the incident and came for his help.
The men came to the residence of Babbu Chaudhary, a supplier of security items and school dresses in the Kathmandu Valley, in Bijulibazaar for discussing business matters and asked him to go with them.
“When I asked them to introduce themselves, one of the men, pointing a revolver at me, demanded Rs 5 lakh,” Chaudhary said.
“People came to my rescue when I pushed one of the men and shouted for help. Saying that they will come again, the three fled in a white taxi,” Chaudhary added.
Chaudhary today filed a first information report at the Metropolitan Police Range in New Baneshwor. Chaudhary has sought arrangements for his personal security.
The police are investigating the incident, inspector BB Shahi said.
