Indians are Nepalis' kin, says Swami Ram Dev
KATHMANDU: Yoga Guru Swami Ram Dev today said the relationship between Nepal and India is that of “daughter and bread” since ancient times.
Baba Ram Dev was addressing participants on the fifth day of Yog Vigyan Shivir-2010 that is on at Tundikhel here.
“Sita was born in Nepal and got married to the Indian prince, Ram, as such, we are nieces and nephews of Nepali ancestors,” he said.
“We are culturally, spiritually and geographically tied to each other. People from both countries have been earning bread in both the countries without barriers,” he added. “Nepal and India are very close friends.”
Minister for Commerce and Supplies Rajendra Mahato inaugurated the fifth day’s yoga session.
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Physical Planning and Works Bijaya Kumar Gachhadar highlighted the importance of yoga in one’s life.
More than 40,000 people, including ministers, high-ranking government officials and leaders of political parties have been taking part in the camp.
Swami Ram Dev also inaugurated the Patanjali Yog Peeth in Dhulikhel in Kavre today. While he had inaugurated another Patanjali Yog Peeth at Mandikhatar in Kathmandu yesterday.
