Insignia conferred on IGPs of Nepal Police, Armed Police Force

KATHMANDU: Inspector General of Police (IGP) of Nepal Police and Armed Police Force have been conferred with insignia of their rank by the government on Thursday morning.

In a programme organised at the Ministry of Home Affairs, today, Home Secretary Prem Kumar Rai conferred the insignia on the new chiefs of both security forces. Both the newly appointed chiefs will be assuming office from today itself.

A cabinet meeting called by Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli on Tuesday decided to appoint Sarbendra Khanal and Shailendra Khanal as Inspector General of Police (IGPs) of Nepal Police and Armed Police Force respectively.

The former chiefs of both security forces, Prakash Aryal and Singha Bahadur Shrestha retired on Wednesday, owing to the 30-year service term clause.
