Intel award boost to rural livelihood scheme

Kathmandu, April 8:

Bibek Chapagain, director of Clean Energy Group at Winrock International Nepal, has been announced one of the four winners of the INSPIRE.EMPOWER Challenge for his proposal on Rural Livelihood Enhancement (RLE).

In a press statement issued by Intel today, Craig Barrett, chairman of Intel Corporation announced the award winners during a function at the Intel Developer Forum. The corporation had earlier called on the developer community to submit innovative ideas for applying technology

to address some of the world’s most pressing problems related to education, health care, economic development and the environment.

The statement said, “The winner of four $ 100,000 prizes were evaluated for impact on sustainability and innovativeness and the prize money would be used for the implementation of the solution.”
