IoE to organise technology fest from Jan 31

Lalitpur, January 28:

The Institute of Engineering (IoE) will organise a technological festival “LOCUS 2006-07” from January 31 to February 2 with an aim to bridge the gap between technical and professional education in Nepal.

“The event will create a platform to exhibit students technical expertise, generate innovative ideas for the development of science and technology and encourage healthy competition among students,” said Ashay Thakur, coordinator of the event.

The event will update interested people about the latest developments in the world of science and technology as well as their applicability in the context of Nepali society.

The festival includes open software and hardware competitions and exhibitions, electrical events, seminars and paper presentations, multimedia competition and other informal events.

The festival is being jointly organised by the Department of Electronics and Computer Engineering and the Department of Electrical Engineering in the library hall of the IoE. The festival also aims to hone the technological and marketing management skills of engineering and non-engineering students.
