It’s our job to hold CA polls: IGP

Kathmandu, November 13:

Inspector General of Police Om Bickram Rana today told police officers that it was their responsibility to hold constituent assembly (CA) elections “in a free and fair manner”.

Addressing a function organised at the Valley Police Office, Rana asked the officers to work hard to ensure tight security during the elections.

Commenting on the formation of Metropolitan Police in the Valley, he said: “Setting up a separate unit of Metropolitan Police and working under it will help control crime in

the Valley.” He asked the police officers to manage more time to look into the complaints made against police personnel themselves.

“Police officers must manage time to listen to the people who come to police stations. Half of our problems will automatically be solved if we listen to the people carefully,” he added.
