It’s party time for THT, AP distributors

Kathmandu, March 27:
The Himalayan Times and Annapurna Post today organised a dinner in honour of the distributors and retailers of the two national dailies. Around 2,000 people from the newspaper business in the Kathmandu valley participated in the reception.
Addressing the reception, editor of The Himalayan Times, Ram N Pradhan, said the publications need support of the distributors to stay ahead in the competitive world of journalism.
He added that the works of journalists will be incomplete if the distributors do not support them by taking the newspapers to sellers and the readers.Govinda Pradhan, the editor of Annapurna Post, said the contribution of each distributor is counted when overall impact of paper is analysed.Raju Pradhananga, the owner of RB Newspapers Traders, the authorised dealer of the two publications, said that the circulation of the papers is growing smoothly and it is the reason behind the satisfaction of the distributors.
Niraj Ghimire of the circula-tion department thanked the distributors and expected similar cooperation from them in the future as well.
Three of the participants won lucky draw prizes at the event. Pawan Lamichhane from the Aparna Books and Stationery, Chabahil, stood first, Ram Hari Sapkota from the Sampada Stationery Centre, Chabahil, stood second and Balkrishna Paudel from Bidhyarthi Stationery, Old Baneshwor, stood third.After the dinner, a cultural programme was organised. Pop artists Nalina Chitrakar, Sugam Pokhrel and Dipesh Kishore Bhattrai presented exciting Nepali numbers for the dancing audience.
