KATHMANDU: International Society for Krishna Consciousness-Nepal is organising Jagannath Rath Yatra on the occasion of Nepali New Year 2074 on Friday.

The chariot procession would be taken out from Narayangopal Chowk Maharajgunj to Budhanilakantha. Organising a press meet on Wednesday, ISKCON said the aim of the chariot procession was to wish all Nepalis a prosperous and happy life. ISKCON expects a total of 5,000 participants for the chariot procession.

According to ISKCON Nepal, the first day of the Nepali year is also the anniversary of installation of Sri Sri Radha Govinda Hari, the prime diety of ISKCON Nepal. This day is celebrated by organising cultural programmes.
