JC probing complaints against judges
KATHMANDU: The Judicial Council (JC) today held consultations amongst its members
on complaints against judges of the appellate courts and district courts. The JC is likely to give its decision on the complaints that have been pending since long.
Saying that JC members have been thoroughly analysing the complaints, JC secretary Jivan Hari Adhikary said that most probably the authority
will take a suitable decision on whether or not to hold further investigation into the matter.
“The JC might take a decision tomorrow,” he
said. “If the judges are found guilty of malpractices, an investigation panel might be formed for formal investigation,” Adhikary added.
Chief Justice Ram Prasad Shrestha, who heads the JC, has been doing serious groundwork to take action if anyone
is found guilty on corruption charges. CJ Shrestha, Law and Justice Minister Prem Bahadur Singh, Senior Justice Khil Raj Regmi and members Moti Kaji Sthapit and Basudev Dhungana were present in today’s meeting.
Erstwhile Chief Justices Min Bahadur Rayamajhi and Anup Raj Sharma
had begun the investigation process.
