KATHMANDU: Judicial Council has made recommendation for the appointment of four Chief Judges of four High Courts.

A meeting of the JC decided to recommend Chief Registrar of the Supreme Court Nahakul Subedi as the Chief Judge of High Court in Tulsipur.

Similarly, the JC decided to recommend Uday Chapagain as the Chief Judge of High Court in Janakpur; Yagya Kumar Basyal as the Chief Judge of High Court in Dipayal; and Hari Kumar Pokharel, Chief Judge of High Court in Surkhet.

According to Co-spokesperson of JC Balram Lamsal, Chapagain is currently serving as a Judge of High Court, Janakpuar and Basyal as a Judge of temporary bench of High Court in Birgunj.

Newly appointed Chief Judge of High Court, Surkhet Hari Kumar Pokharel is currently serving as a Judge of High Court Butwal.

The Chief Justice appoints the newly recommended chief judges of the high courts.
