Journalism training ends

Kathmandu, September 2:

A four-month journalism training organised by the Association of Nepalese Indigenous Nationalities Journalists (ANIJ) with support of Janajati Empowerment Project (JEP) concluded here today.

Altogether 21 participants including 13 women from indigenous and nationalities communities took part in the training held in between April and August 2006. Mohan Singh Lama, general secretary of ANIJ gave away the certificates to the successful participants of the training.

Lama said that the training was held with a view to enhancing proficiency of new comers in journalism, especially from the marginalised janajatis and indigenous community. He hoped that the trainees would utilise knowledge and skill gained in the training in their field work.
