Kathmandu:

Janakpur-based Ramananda Youth Club has decided to present the Vidhyapati Smriti Padak to the president of Federation of Nepali Journalists, Dharmendra Jha, a litterateur in Maithili language, for his contribution to the development of Maithili language and literature.

The award carries a purse of Rs. 5,000, along with an appreciation letter. Jha has four creations to his credit in Maithili language. Likewise, Jha has also written three children’s works in Maithili language and five books in Nepali language and literature .

Similarly, he has translated two books from Maithili to Nepali and has even written textbooks for grades one to five in Maithili language. — RSS
