Kailali crisis should be resolved politically: UCPN-Maoist
KATHMANDU: The main opposition UCPN-Maoist on Tuesday concluded that the newfound crisis in Kailali should be resolved through political means instead of by using of force.
The meeting of party's Standing Committee was held at Party Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal's residence in Lazimpat.
During the meeting, leaders said that the constitution drafting process should not be halted on any pretext, UCPN-M spokesperson Dinanath Sharma informed.
The UCPN-M demanded fair investigation into Monday's Tikapur incident and action against the guilty.
The party further claimed that the ongoing problems would not be resolved only by mobilising army.
Informing that the meeting reached to a conclusion that the dissatisfaction over the issue of delineation of federal states should be addressed at the earliest, leader Devendra Paudel said that one and all should help to take the constitution drafting process to a logical conclusion.
The meeting also discussed contemporary political situation of the country and constitution drafting process.
