KATHMANDU: A grocery caught fire in Kapan of Kathmandu on Friday, reducing property worth Rs 91,000 into ashes.

An electric short circuit had sparked the fire at the shop run by Srijana Manandhar, a permanent resident of Ramechhap district, in Kapan, Budhanilakantha Municipality-13.

Police assisted by locals had doused the fire.

Further investigation is underway.
