KATC vaccinates dogs

KATHMANDU: Kathmandu Animal Treatment Center (KATC) in coordination with the Department of Livestock Services and Humane Society International held a six-day vaccination camp during which over 300 dogs were vaccinated in the Kathmandu Valley. On Monday, they vaccinated around 90 per cent of the dog population of Sankhu to mark the World Rabies Day. According to KAT, in 98 per cent of the cases, humans contract rabies through dog bite and the most effective way to eliminate rabies is to vaccinate the dogs against rabies.
