Kathmandu disabled-friendly in a year!

KATHMANDU: Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Women, Children and Social Welfare, CP Mainali, said the government has resolved to make the Kathmandu Valley disabled-friendly within a year.

Speaking at the meeting held to mark the 24th International Day of Persons with Disabilities, DPM Mainali stressed everyone's resolution to make the Capital disabled friendly.

According to DPM Mainali, the government is ready to bring a separate working policy on the persons with disabilities.

The main organising committee, led by DPM Mainali, comprises of representatives from various sectors including civil society and NGOs working for the rights of people with disabilities

The Day will be marked by organising various programmes

On the occasion, Chairman of the National Federation of Disabled Persons Surdarshan Subedi demanded immediate implementation of the amended Act on Persons with Disabilities.
