KATHMANDU, FEBRUARY 08

Kathmandu valley recorded as many as 58 new cases of the coronavirus infection, on Monday.

Of the newly infected persons, 25 are females while 33 are males.

Kathmandu district alone witnessed 45 cases of Covid-19. Lalitpur reported 11 new cases while Bhaktapur logged two cases, today. At present, there are 1,073 active coronavirus cases in Kathmandu while number of the same in Lalitpur is 32 and that in Bhaktapur is 15.

500 people have succumbed to the contagion in Kathmandu while 161 fatalities have been reported dead in Lalitpur and 115 in Bhaktapur, so far.

Meanwhile, total number of people that have recovered from the disease in Kathmandu is 100,280 while 15,911 people have recovered in Lalitpur, and 9,116 in Bhaktapur.

Today, 130 new cases of Covid-19 surfaced in the country following which the nationwide Covid-19 tally has reached 272,055.

The nationwide death-toll has shifted to 2,045 with seven fatalities logged today.

Kathmandu is the only district with over 500 active cases in the country. On the contrary, Bhojpur, Solukhumbu, Kalikot, Rukum West, and Mugu are the five districts with zero live infections.
