Kaushaltar murder suspect arrested from Dhading

KATHMANDU: Police said they have arrested Paras Koirala, who had allegedly fled after fatally hitting his cousin Saurav Subedi with a khukuri at the latter's residence in Kaushaltar of Bhaktapur on Sunday morning, from Dhading.

Koirala (25) was heading to Pokhara on a motorcycle when he was apprehended from Dhading, Rastriya Samachar Samiti reported, quoting DSP Shyam Babu Oliya at the Thimi-based Metropolitan Police Circle

Subedi was the Lainchaur branch manager of Nepal SBI Bank and hailed from Jhapa of eastern Nepal.

Koirala is said to be the victim's cousin. The RSS earlier had reported that Koirala was 19-year-old and Subedi's nephew.

Koirala barged into Subedi's residence at around 7:30 am and allegedly attacked him who was sleeping on his bed. The deceased's wife, child and a maid were also present in the house at the time of attack, according to police.

The motive behind the attack was not known.
