Kirat party against One Madhes One Pradesh
Kathmandu, May 24:
The Kirat Republican Workers’ Party today warned that the demand for ‘One Madhesh One Pradesh’, Chure Bhavar state and Kochila state were ‘not acceptable to the people’ and that the state should be restructured on the basis of historical divisions. Issuing a press statement, the party said the next government should include indigenous groups on proportional basis.
The release issued by its spokesperson Ananta Kranti also demanded that all Sanskrit schools be transformed into language schools and the area from Bouddha to Chuchchepati be evacuated, as “it was forcefully grabbed by the late king Mahendra”.
The party warned it would replace all government bodies in the Kirat-dominated areas with its people’s government if its demands were not met.
