KMC garbage row to end Sunday

KATHMANDU: The garbage row of Kathmandu valley is likely to end on Sunday through a meeting of all-party mechanism.

Garbage dumping has been obstructed since the past three days after Okharpauwa locals obstructed the trucks heading to the dumping site.

According to Dr. Sumitra Amatya, general manager at the Solid Waste Management and Resource Mobilisation Centre the discussion was held on Friday and locals of Okharpauwa had agreed to resume the dumping.

The locals are demanding budget for a hospital, irrigation, road, drinking water and quota for jobs.
