Kathmandu, June 17

Kathmandu Metropolitan City today unveiled its policies and programmes for the fiscal 2018-19.

Mayor of KMC Bidhya Sundar Shakya unveiled the policies and programmes at a Municipal Council Meeting yesterday. As per the policies and programmes, KMC will focus on achieving economic growth, developing infrastructure and providing hassle-free services.

KMC has given first priority to good governance. For this KMC will introduce the system of  awarding and promoting honest officials while punishing employees who fail to undertake their responsibilities. Progress of development projects will be monitored regularly and employees and local leaders will be  provided training to enhance their work efficiency.

As per the policies and programmes, KMC will also introduce smart tax payer card to help people pay tax with ease.

Under Urban Development Policy, KMC aims to maintain greenery in the city and implement smart city programme.  Under infrastructure development policy, KMC envisions constructing seminar halls, upgrading and upgrading existing roads.
