KMC intensifies school monitoring

KATHMANDU: Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) has started an undertaking to monitor private schools.

The KMC Education Department chief Pralhad Aryal shared that they intensified monitoring of the schools as they received regular complaints regarding student enrollment at the beginning of academic session, of late.

He further assured the continuance of site inspection and monitoring of schools through various channels. The KMC would study the fee structure, availability of physical infrastructure and other essential requirements at the schools.

There are 100 community schools and 700 private schools in KMC where about 65,000 students are pursuing education.

According to the new provision post federal set-up, local bodies have the responsibility of regulating schools.
