KMC removes hoardings

Kathmandu, September 9:

The Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) has started removing hoarding boards that have been placed in public places without

paying taxes to the KMC from today. A team headed by Jib Nath Devkota, field supervisor of Revenue Division (RD) of KMC, today removed the hoarding board of Asian Paints from New Road.

Devkota told The Himalayan Times that they could not remove more hoarding boards today due to traffic jams. He said, “We will start the work from early morning tomorrow.” Tomorrow, the KMC staffers are scheduled to remove illegal hoarding boards from New Road, Bir Hospital, Jamal and Bhadrakali.

The KMC had given an ultimatum till the end of August to register hoarding boards, however, around 200 hoarding boards were yet to be registered.
