Koirala says Nepali Congress would lead to resolution of Madhes unrest

KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress (NC) President Sushil Koirala has noted that his party would take a lead in addressing the existing problems of Madhes.

Taking part in an interaction programme on the role of Nepali Congress in resolving the current national crisis organised by NC Khotang 2 Constituency Committee, the former Prime Minister expressed his confidence that Madhesh problems would be resolved through dialogues.

Koirala said his party was committed to the successful implementation of the new Constitution, which, according to him, has established the democratic norms and values.

NC Treasurer Chitralekha Yadav stressed that her party should play a crucial role to sort out the Madhes issues. She insisted on political unity for enforcement of the Constitution.

Similarly, party central members Gagan Thapa and Pradeep Paudel said the Congress should take a lead to implement the new Constitution and face the challenges surfaced in the country with the promulgation of the Constitution.

NC Khotang 2 Constituency Committee president Tirtha Bhattarai said addressing the current problems in the country was the prime responsibility of the NC.
