Korean scholarships for Nepali students

The Embassy of the Republic of Korea today announced scholarships for Nepali students.

A press statement issued here today by the Embassy of the Republic of Korea said the National Institute for International Education under the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Korea will invite Nepali students for '2016 Global Korea Scholarship:Korean Government scholarship programme for international students for graduate degrees,' which is called 2016 Graduate GKS to be conducted in Korea for the academic year 2016-2019.

It said that the awardees will be selected on the basis of academic credentials and their commitment to contribute to the development of their country. Forty-five Nepali students have already availed of the opportunity to pursue higher education in Korea, it said.

It further said that the embassy plans to recommend three qualified candidates to the NIIED, which will make a final choice of the candidates.

It said that the application guidelines and forms were available at the websites http://www.studyinkorea.go.kr, niied.go.kr and npl.mofa.go.kr.

According to the statement, the deadline to submit the application is March 18.
