The Lalitpur Sub-Metropolitan City (LMC) is preparing a city profile to document all features
of the city.
Ashok Shrestha, spokes-person of LMC said: “The documentation is being done with an objective to get a complete picture of the present state to help acquire adequate information to sketch future plans and policies of the LMC.”
This is the first time the LMC is preparing a periodic profile of the city which will be updated every year. “The LMC has undertaken this responsibility and is planning to get it done at a minimum cost. For this, we have deployed our staffers and also staffers from wards to collect information in their respective wards,” Shrestha said.
“Though the table work for this documentation was done four months ago, the field work started just two months ago,” Shrestha said.
The documentation includes the details of every house in every ward with respect to designs
and types, details on types of roads, facilities of sanitation and garbage management, details of households with services like telephone, electricity, water supply, number
and types of educational and health institutions, number and type of institutional buildings and
financial institutions, occupation of people, number, type of training institutes and number
of national and international non-governmental organisations.
The documentation also covers the services of security forces, details of parking spaces and public areas, heritage sites, historical places and building with architectural values and temples.
