KATHMANDU: Four persons arrested for their involvement in hundi transactions have been sent to jail after they failed to post a bail amount of Rs 2.3 million each on Sunday.

The Metropolitan Police Range, Lalitpur had produced them before the Department of Revenue Investigation, which decided that each should pay the bail for release.

Earlier, police on Thursday had arrested Bishnu Gurung (32), Suraj Gurung (20), Bhim Bahadur Khatri (18) and Dipesh Gurung (21) from Jawalakhel.

All of them were sent to the Nakhkhu Jail in Nakhkhu of the district yesterday, according to police.

Police investigation had revealed that they were involved in the illegal transaction of Rs 8.66 million with a person named Dharma Raj Gurung.
