Lalitpur metropoly draws up annual plan
LALITPUR: After a four-month lull following the passing of the budget, Lalitpur Sub-Metropolitan City (LSMC) is finally drawing up plans and programmes long overdue for the current fiscal.
Even as the budget, which was inordinately delayed due a time lag in the board meeting under what is known as ‘all-party mechanism, was passed four months ago, the LSMC was unable to move forward with execution of the proposed programmes.
“We have just started selecting plans and programmes for the current fiscal,” said engineer Badri Krishna Tamrakar, chief of the Planning Division at the LSMC.
The LSMC had requisitioned an estimated budget of Rs 380 million for the current fiscal out of which Rs 130 million has been earmarked for the administrative purpose and Rs 250 million towards the development expenses.
“It’s now certain that the board meeting will commence ‘soon’ to finalise its tasks,” he added.
Earlier, there was a seven-party mechanism in the absence of elected representatives to run the civic body’s programmes. But now an all-party mechanism representative of all the political parties in the CA formed.
