LAN holds interaction programme on literature and research

KATHMANDU: Literary Association Nepal (LAN) held an interaction programme in the Capital on Monday.

The event saw the participation of Israeli Ambassador to Nepal, Benny Omer, along with writers and novelists from Nepal and other foreign countries.

Nepali writers and researchers used this opportunity to exchange their experiences with the participants.

Addressing the programme, guest speakers — novelist Dr Dorit Silverman and children's writer Ms Smandar Shir — talked about synchronicity of Hebrew and literary trend in Israel.

Ambassador Omer expressed that exchanging views and ideas on literature and research between Nepali and Israeli writers would help strengthen cultural ties between the two countries. He also assured of Israel's initiative to holding such programmes of cultural significance in the future.

The event concluded with the interaction between Nepali writers and Israeli guest speakers.
