KATHMANDU: Prime Minister Sushil Koirala reiterated that people from all walks of life should be united to rebuild the nation, rattled by the devastating April 25 earthquake and its aftershocks.

Addressing the closing ceremony of a friendly football match between political leaders and cine artists at the Armed Police Force Stadium in Halchok of Kathmandu on Saturday, the Prime Minister urged all including artists, writers and painters to join hands for the reconstruction campaign.

"We should cope with the present challenge together," Koirala said, "We, then, will be successful."

He maintained that political parties are expediting the constitution drafting process, thanks to inspirations from the artists.

Artists win over politicians

Meanwhile, the artists won the match 3-0 against the political leaders.

Koirala, who himself had led the politicians' team, congratulated the artists for the victory.

Naya Patrika national daily organised the event to collect funds for the April 25 earthquake-hit population across the nation.

President Ram Baran Yadav had inaugurated the event.
