Literary fraternity remembers Aadikavi Bhanubhakta

KATHMANDU: The Bhanu Pratishthan organised a programme at Nepal Academy here today in commemoration of the contribution made by the first poet of Nepali language - Aadikavi Bhanubhakta Acharya - to the development of Nepali language.

During the event held to mark Bhanubhakta's 203rd birth anniversary or Bhanu Jayanti, various scholars, artistes and authorities, including the Chief of Army Staff Rajendra Chhetri, garlanded and offered flowers at the statue of the Aadikavi Bhanubhakta on the premises of the Academy.

Also, Prof Dr Basudev Tripathi and film director Yadav Kharel were honoured in recognition of their contribution to Nepali language and literature.
