Lalitpur, May 15:

Locals at Lagankhel blocked traffic for two hours from 1.15 pm to 3.15 pm after the local administration obstructed them from cleaning the Sapta Patal pond near the Namuna Machhindra High School at Lagankhel.

While the locals claim that the school encroached the pond, the school remains the legal owner of the land where the pond is located.

The Chief District Officer of Lalitpur Nirmal Prasad Dhakal said the DAO prevented the locals from cleaning the pond because it is the property of the school and that it is its duty to protect people’s property.
