Madhes-based parties call on GPK
KATHMANDU: The Madhes-based parties held talks with president of Nepali Congress Girija Prasad Koirala (GPK) on Monday morning at the latter’s residence, Maharajgunj. The meeting dwelt mainly on the Vice President's oath controversy and the political scenario after his refusal to take a fresh oath in Nepali.
The Madhes-based parties asked veteran leader Koirala to take initiatives on amending the interim constitution to end the ongoing constitutional and political impasse. According to chairman of Nepal Sadhbhawana Party Rajendra Mahato, Koirala was responding positively to their demands and he would hold talks with other parties also regarding this issue. Deputy Prime Minister Bijay Kumar Gachhadar along with other leaders also attended the meeting.
