Man accused of brutally killing wife, arrested

KATHMANDU: A man has been arrested from Kapan in Kathmandu on charge of brutally murdering his wife, on Tuesday, police said.

In a statement today, Metropolitan Crime Division said, the suspect Dan Bahadur Chettri brutally hit on his wife's head with an iron rod, who was asleep, at their rented room in Tamsipakha in KMC-18, in the wee hours of Tuesday.

Dan Bahadur Chettri (30) of Bardiya district mercilessly murdered his better half Resam Kala Rokaya (27) on suspicion of having an extramarital affairs, ending their 11 years of love marriage.

Resam Kala Rokaya, was later found submerged in pool of blood, police said. It has been learned that the couple used to repeatedly fight on the issue.

A police team deployed from the Metropolitan Crime Division subsequently arrested Chettri, who was hiding in Kapan area after the incident.

Meanwhile, police the further investigation is underway.
