Man held with fake currency
Kathmandu, December 6:
The police yesterday arrested Kanchok Lakpa Tamang of Limri-4 in Humla with fake Indian currency, fake pistol and bullets.
Tamang was arrested from a room in Govdavari Guest House in Gongabu. Police confiscated Indian currency of different denominations — 98 notes of Rs 500 denomination and 102 notes of Rs 100 denomination — a fake pistol, 30 rounds of bullets, his citizenship certificate, passport, binoculars and a mobile phone set. Meanwhile, an unidentified gang of five robbed an elderly woman of Rs 7 lakhs in Baneshwor. Buddha Maya Limbu (60) of Dharan municipality, living in a rented apartment in Baneshwor, was heading to her younger sister’s residence in Buddhanagar at around 4 pm when the robbers accosted her. They targetted her while she was in a narrow alley behind the Everest Nursing Home.
