Man says he killed kid for gold ring
Kathmandu, May 24:
A sand miner confessed today that he murdered a six-year-old boy, Ashutosh KC, on May 9 for a gold ring the boy was wearing.
Bal Krishna Budhathoki, 35, said he killed the boy by smothering, wrapped the body in sacks and threw it into the Dhobikhola.
A native of Itahari municipality-2, Budhathoki had been putting up at Mahankal VDC-3.
Police arrested Budhathoki on May 18.
Budhathoki made the revelation at a press conference organised by the Crime Investigation Branch of the Metropolitan Police Range Hanumandhoka today. I was drunk at the time and could not think I was committing a crime, he told reporters.
