Manpower agency manager held while "trying to flee Nepal after swindling foreign job aspirants of millions"
KATHMANDU: A manager of manpower agency, who is accused of swindling foreign job aspiring youth of fortune, was arrested from the Tribhuvan International Airport, the Teku-based Metropolitan Police Crime Division said on Tuesday.
Identified as Bijaya Khadka, a permanent resident of Jhapa district, the suspect was trying to flee Nepal when he was taken in custody from the country's only international airport, according to police.
Khadka is affiliated with the Gwarko-based Nealco Placement Pvt. Ltd, police informed.
Khadka had allegedly collected at least Rs 3.9 million -- Rs 6,50,000 each from six individuals including Sagar Nepali, Narendra Sherstha, Prakash Amagain, Kailash Kumar Pakhrin and Kumar Shrestha -- promising them of sending to Singapore for a training with job guarantee at ships after the completion of training.
Khadka has been handed over to the Metropoltitan Police Range, Lalitpur, for further action.
