Maoist acts worry rights body

Kathmandu, November 9:

The National Human Rights Concern Centre has expressed concern over “extortion” by Maoist cadres and their act of forcing valley residents to feed them and put them up in their houses. It welcomed the historic agreement between the seven-party alliance and the Maoists. In a statement, the centre said it would probe the incident in which individuals led by some CPN-UML parliamentarians gheraoed the office of the Maoist-affiliated Janabargiya Sangathan

in Lalitpur.

We will also probe the recent scuffle between cadres of the All Nepal National Free Students Union and All Nepal National Independent Students Union-Revolutionary, the centre said.
