Maoist advisor passes away

KATHMANDU: Central advisor of the Unified CPN-Maoist Bodha Raj Kafle passed away on Sunday night at the age of 65. According to the party, he was suffering from throat cancer. Issuing a statement on Monday, UCPN-M chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda' expressed heartfelt condolence to Kafle's bereaved family members. "The demise of a true revolutionary, who was popular among the workers and peasants, has caused a great loss to the movement of the Nepali proletariat," stated the Maoist supremo. Kafle is survived by his wife, three daughters and a son. Kafle is said to have been a full-time member of the Communist Party of Nepal after getting a bachelors' degree some 41 years ago.
