Kathmandu, October 3

UCPN-Maoist spokesperson Dinanath Sharma today said that the task force cannot resolve the impending political crisis as it has no mandate to decide on the contending issues.

“The task force is useless as its members have been repeating the same stances of their respective parties,” Sharma said. “Unless they show flexibility in their stances agreement is highly unlikely,” he said. However, the problem can be solved only through dialogues between the top brass, he reiterated. Meanwhile, Sharma informed that the party’s standing committee meeting scheduled today had been postponed till tomorrow morning.

The Maoists have been clamouring for action against the President since their coalition collapsed in early June.
